Job Description

Location: Houston, TX

Develop and test software defined storage solutions for IBM Storage. Cutting edge flash technologies are at the center of our exciting and growing business. Candidate will work in Houston as part of a team and must have experience communicating effectively and meeting design goals. Candidate must be a self-starter and an independent thinker as well as work well with a group of peers, all while balancing multiple job responsibilities simultaneously. Designs, develops, troubleshoots, and tests IBM storage software and hardware products. Development includes, but is not limited to, embedded firmware, drivers, software tools, operating systems, application programmer interfaces, graphical user interfaces, scripting, testing, and documentation. Programs in languages that are appropriate for the particular platform and function being implemented. Actively participates in an agile development environment, including scrums and sprint planning activities.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering

At least 6 months experience in C, C++, or Python programming

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

At least 1 year experience in C/ C++ programming

At least 1 year experience in python programming

At least 1 year experience in software development in an Agile environment

At least 1 year experience in software testing, preferably in automated testing environments

Experience with Flash/SSD Storage

Experience with Linux device driver developmen

Experience in enterprise storage area networks (Fibre Channel, Infiniband, NVMe over fabrics) Experience with NVMe Protocol
